About Tai Chi

The origins of Tai Chi are not completely clear, but it is likely that Daoist martial practices were in existence well over two thousands years ago. There are several styles of Tai Chi, although, most people in China and other countries tend to practice Yang style, which ashort form will be taught in the class.

Benefits

As of recently, Tai Chi has become popular worldwide. Many are taking advantage of the many benefits from practicing this ancient art. Many scientific studies show the benefits of Tai Chi inclues (but not exclusively):

  • Flexibility and strength in limbs and torso
  • Improves balance and coordination
  • Cardiovascular fitness
  • Controls blood pressure
  • Reduces stress and depression
  • Eases chronic pain
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Regulates cholesterol levels
  • Pervents bone loss
  • Promotes overall health
